Default Driving dangers

Could anyone tell me what to expect when driving the following routes e.g. cliff hanging, hair-pin turns, windy, etc.

1) from Split to Dubrovnik
2) from Sucuraj to Hvar Town

Thank you!

Hi!

From split to dubrovnik should be ok, if the wind called bura isn't too strong. There are some dangerous places in this route of ca. 200km.
For the road from sucuraj to hvar I have to say that it is terrible and dangerous, only last ca. 30 km is a new road which is ok.

On Hvar it is not as bad as it used to be.

In the old days the tunnel did not exist and you had to take the road from Starigrad through the mountains to Hvar. If you do it at night, you don't notice it. But at day you'll see: No fence, no guard, just a 1000 feet drop.................straight down !!

But after you pass that part it is not that bad anymore, in fact it is a nice road. If you would be there in april or may you could smell the lavendel on the fields (Hvar is known for it) and there are enough signs where you can buy fresh made lavendel oil.

I only know the road from Split to Dubrovnik. I did it several times and it's safe. The road is ok, but you're never sure that every driver is also. But that problem you can have everywhere, so no reason to worry more.

Only thing is there are many turns so stay focused.
