The shift of tourist that happened this weekend didn’t provoke any mayor traffic collapses. All the roads toward coast are busy and full but no major problems associated with summer, travel or tourism appeared. All the capacities are well fulfilled, which is also good news for the state budget. Minister of tourism announced that Croatia is expecting 5% rise of income from tourism comparing to the year before.
Last weekend was the busiest this year, and 20% stronger than the one before.
Through airport in Split 20.000 people have passed and 110 air planes has landed so far and Split’s harbour is registering a new record with 270 boats passing through.
The bigest number of tourists are coming from Germany, falowed by Austrians, Slovenians, French, Italians...
Next two to three weeks will be best indicator of how successful 2006 tourist season is. Since the weather is excellent and it is extremely warm for this time of year, tourist forecast is promising. The long term forecast is predicting nice weather all through September.
